The Suzy Study: Preventing the onset of Type II Diabetes

The “Suzy Study” aims to prove that Food-as-Medicine is an effective therapy for treating and preventing Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) and that the Food for Health App facilitates behavioral change and adoption of healthy food options. This clinical study focuses on the App, developed to address the global health crisis of prediabetes (PD) and T2D.

Study Background

With an estimated 860M prediabetics worldwide in 2021, projected to reach 1.2B by 2025, effective intervention is crucial. The App utilizes a patented “Efficacy Engine®” system that computes food efficacy across multiple comorbidities and wellness goals based on peer-reviewed clinical studies.

App Functionality

Users input their medical conditions, specifications, and biometric data, then scan food barcodes for each product to receive a Go or No rating. The App provides healthier options and generates detailed reports for users to share with healthcare providers.

Clinical Trial Design

The proposed study will evaluate the App’s effectiveness in improving health outcomes for PDs and T2Ds:
Participants: 500 subjects
Duration: 4 months (1-month baseline, 3-month treatment)
Intervention: App-guided dietary and behavioral changes
Support: Weekly coaching sessions with registered dieticians
Measurements: Body weight, blood glucose levels, insulin resistance, glycosylated markers
